50+ Keep Fit Class

Ability Level: All levels welcome.
These classes are held in the gym with routines designed for each person based around improving strength, mobility, flexibility and energy. Even if you have never exercised before, you will soon realise that exercise is fun. With the help of an experienced instructor, you will work at your own pace and quickly gain confidence an enjoy your workout. If you have an injury or an illness, do not write yourself off. All ages, levels and abilities are welcome. YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE IF YOU DON’T GIVE IT A GO!

Body Conditioning Circuit

Ability Level: All levels welcome.
Simple but effective circuit routines are given to the class, which will be excellent for toning the muscles, improving strength, flexibility and burning calories. Alternative exercises will be given to beginners.

Box Aerobics Circuit

Ability Level: All levels welcome.
A basic to good all-round standard of fitness is required to participate in this class. Excellent for keeping the body and mind in great shape, Box-Aerobics will burn off the calories, develop speed, improve endurance and enhance your flexibility. Using simple but effective boxing techniques the class targets every part of the body. Great for confidence, an enjoyable and different way to get fit. Please note there is NO SPARRING in this class.

Group Personal Training Circuit

Ability Level: All levels welcome.
This is a popular class taken in our gym, where you can train with other people in a small group or with a friend. The instructor will give you personalized exercise tasks, where you will work at your level. The class is excellent for building strength, toning and burning calories. Please note that inexperienced new comers will need to have a gym induction before participating in this class.

Gym-Athlon Circuit

Ability Level: Intermediate and Advanced levels only.
A good all-round standard of fitness is required to participate in this class. Our enjoyable, popular and rewarding Gymathlon classes will definitely help to take your fitness up to the next level. To gain excellent results, high-intensity training is sometimes required. The class includes: running, rowing, cycling, stepping, x-trainer, combined with various weight-training exercises, where your strength and endurance will be tested to the max.

Junior Circuit (Ages 9 to 16 years)

Ability Level: All levels welcome (Ages 9-16).
These classes are designed specifically for young adults to improve their fitness and wellbeing. The classes are taken in our air-conditioned studio where learning how to exercise correctly and safely is a high priority. Exercise helps to improve confidence, energy and strength – friendships are often formed in these groups. The exercises are varied from week to week and are disciplined, but there is also an emphasis on exercise being fun!

Junior Gym (Ages 9 to 16 years)

Ability Level: All levels (Ages 9-16).
These classes are held in the gym with an emphasis on exercising safely - a gym induction will be required before joining this class. The classes are disciplined but with an emphasis on fun.

Ladies Circuit

Ability Level: All levels welcome.
A basic standard of all-round fitness is required to participate in this class. This fun, popular class at Calso, for ladies only, offers great structured variation with basic but very effective exercises to suite your requirements. Excellent for shaping and toning muscles and burning off those unwanted calories

Line Dancing

Ability Level: All levels welcome providing you know your left foot from your right! Want to get fit, lose weight, discover hidden dance abilities and have fun? If you do, then line dancing is exactly what you’re looking for! Line dancing is a great example of weight-bearing, low-impact aerobic exercise that is suitable for both men and women of all ages and fitness levels. You don’t need any dance experience or a partner just come wearing comfortable clothing and shoes. The class is small and friendly and you will dance to a variety of music.

New Body Circuit

Ability Level: All levels welcome.
The ‘New Body’ circuit is a great way to start your day. It is a challenging and rewarding class, which incorporates different conditioning and cardiovascular exercises. Alternative excises will be given to beginners. A great fat-burning and muscle-toning class.

Pilates

Ability Level: All levels welcome.
Pilates is based on a method of body conditioning that relies on strengthening core postural muscles and developing body alignment. It is designed to provide a workout that builds strength without building bulk, balancing that strength with flexibility and achieving harmony between muscle and mind. This method of training can work for everyone. Each exercise is built around the following seven principles: relaxation, co-ordination, alignment, stamina, concentration, breathing and flowing movements.

Pure Stretch

Ability Level: All levels welcome.
A fantastic class for giving you more flexibility, core strength, posture, balance and relaxation. The class is slower paced, but still very effective.

Shape & Tone Circuit

Ability Level: All levels welcome.
This circuit class combines both high and low impact moves and is designed to give an all over, full body-toning and aerobic experience, plus abdominal and core-conditioning exercises to tone up those vital areas. Individuals select their own weights, which allow them to work at their own level and ability; different levels of exercise can be given.

Spin

Ability Level: All levels welcome.
A basic level of cycling ability or general fitness is required to participate in our spin classes. Spin is a cardiovascular workout performed to music on indoor-fixed-wheel cycles. Great for burning fat, improving the heart and lungs to give you more energy and strengthening and toning your legs. You set your own resistance level and can take breaks anytime. Our spin room is fully air-conditioned which keeps you cool while you are working out.

Step & Shape Circuit

Ability Level: All levels welcome.
A basic level of fitness and co-ordination is required to participate in this class. Our Step and Shape circuit will give you an all-round body workout which is 50% simple but effective step exercises, and 50% muscle toning, abdominal, core conditioning and fat-burning exercises performed in a circuit format. This class is varied each week.

Ultimate Circuit Challenge

Ability Level: Advanced level only.
A good to high standard of all-round fitness is required to participate in this class. This class is disciplined and based on teamwork training and will test your strength, endurance, speed and mental ability to get the very best out of you. All the classes are varied and creative and will give you a great buzz, a sense of fulfilment and achievement. Despite the discipline required and the challenge faced, you’ll still have fun!

Yoga

Ability Level: All levels welcome.
Hatha Yoga is a very accessible and effective form of exercise. It will help to develop strength, flexibility, stillness and balance in all aspects of your life. Yoga can be taken up at any age and is easily be adapted to help you deal with the challenges that life presents you with. All the Hatha Yoga poses and practices are taught in stages, so that you are able to choose a work level which is best suited for you.
